IEEE SIGNAL PROCESSING MAGAZINE [72] MARCH 2008 1053-5888/08/$25.00©2008IEEE C ompressed sensing (CS) aims to reconstruct signals and images from significantly fewer measurements than were traditionally thought necessary. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is an essential medical imaging tool with an inherently slow data acquisition process. Applying CS to MRI offers potentially significant scan time reductions, with benefits for patients and health care economics. MRI obeys two key requirements for successful application of CS: 1) medical imagery is naturally compressible by sparse coding in an appropriate transform domain (e.g., by wavelet transform), and 2) MRI scanners naturally acquire encoded samples, rather than direct pixel samples (e.g., in spatial-frequency encoding). In this article we review the requirements for successful CS, describe their natural fit to MRI, and then give examples of four interesting applications of CS in MRI. We emphasize [Michael Lustig, David L. Donoho, Juan M. Santos, and John M. Pauly] Compressed Sensing MRI

متن کاملHow Judo Professionals Win and Lost in Competition: A Closer Look at Gender, Weight, Technique, and Gripping
Background. Judo coaches and athletes must understand the relevant technical content of the competition to improve their judo skills in Taiwan. Therefore, this study intends to explore the current situation and differences in scoring techniques of outstanding judo players and the impact on the victories or defeats of scoring techniques. Objectives. The purpose of this study is to explore the d...
متن کاملA look at the current situation of Inclusive-integrated education from the interface and receptive Teachers perspective
Abstract Background and Purpose: Awareness of the current situation, followed by an informed decision to continue the path or make the necessary reforms to improve the current situation is a requirement for the success of integrated-inclusive education. Therefore, the present research was conducted with the aim of providing a comprehensive picture of the current conditions of integrated-inc...
متن کاملMethods to Improve Fiber Reconstruction at DTI-Based Tractography in the Area of Brain Tumor: Case Illustration and Literature Review
Background and Aim: DTI-based tractography could help us to visualize the spatial relation of fiber tracts to brain lesions. Several factors may interfere with the procedure of diffusion-based tractography, especially in brain tumors. The aim of the current study is to discuss several solutions to improve the procedure of fiber reconstruction adjacent or inside brain lesions. Illustrative cases...
متن کاملThe Benefits and implementations of Diffusion tensor imaging and Neural Fiber Tractography in Brain Surgery
Background and Aim: The methods for detecting brain activation with fMRI, MRI provides a way to measure the anatomical connections which enable lightning-fast communication among neurons that specialize in different kinds of brain functions. Diffusion tensor imaging is able to measure the direction of bundles of the axonal fibers which are all aligned. Besides mapping white matter fiber tracts,...
